  • Risk Management Framework (Procedure)The Risk Managment Framework allows the Diocese to make decisions considering information gathered from both internal and external sources. The Framework supports organisational understanding and knowledge using risk registers, risk analysis, investigation, and data sources to identify trends, opportunities, threats, and tools developed drawing on the specific guidelines of the Australian Standard for Risk Managment (AS ISO 31000:2018).
  • Risk Management PolicyThe Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle’s (the Diocese) mission allows it to serve all in the community so they may experience life to the fullest. The Diocese fulfils this mission through its objectives and the ministries and activities the Diocese undertakes to achieve these.
Risk is the effect of uncertainty on achieving these objectives. Managing risk proactively and adopting good risk management practices across the Diocese, parishes and agencies that respect the teachings and values of the Catholic Church, contribute to sound management practice and risk-informed decision-making to build a contemporary Catholic workplace that is safe, supportive, and compliant with all relevant laws.
The Diocese is committed to ensuring appropriate risk management and internal control systems across all its parishes and agencies.
