- Safeguarding Framework PolicyThe Diocese takes a zero-tolerance approach to abuse. The Diocese strives to inculcate the safeguarding of children and vulnerable persons as a core practice in all its parishes and faith communities as well as all the services and programmes offered by the Diocese.
The Diocesan Safeguarding Framework Policy (â€~Framework’) is designed to:
• support diocesan workers to meet their safeguarding obligations
• provide diocesan leadership with guidance on what needs to be incorporated into individual parishes’ and agencies’ policies, procedures and operational norms to achieve compliance with state and Church legislation, obligations and expectations
• assist the Diocese in being a â€~child-safe organisation’. - Safety Training and Induction ProcedureThe purpose of this procedure is to set out the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle's (the Diocese) commitment to ensuring all workers and other persons have the required work health and safety training to undertake their role in a safe manner and eliminate as far as reasonably practicable the risk of harm to themselves and others.

Any non-compliance with this Guideline may constitute a breach of legislative and NESA requirements and may be considered a breach of the Code of Conduct.

- Schools Enrolment Appeals ProcedureThe purpose of this procedure is to set out the appeals process that applies to enrolment decisions made in accordance with the Schools Enrolment Policy and Procedure at Catholic Schools in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle (the Diocese).
- Schools Enrolment PolicyThis Policy sets out the principles and prioritisation for enrolment in Catholic schools in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle (the Diocese).
Catholic schools in the Diocese are also required to comply with all requirements relating to enrolment set out in the Education Act 1990 (NSW), and to the extent of any inconsistency, the Education Act applies.
Catholic schools in the Diocese are also required to ensure that its enrolment policy and practices comply with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and Disability Standards for Education 2005.
